How to obtain information about Taronga Conservation Society Australia
Taronga aims to provide information informally where it reasonably can to lessen the need for formal GIPA Act access applications. In some cases, formal applications under the GIPA Act may be necessary, particularly if the information sought relates to another person’s personal information, business information or where the information is confidential.
Where access to information held on files is granted, Taronga reserves the right to recover any reasonable costs involved in providing the information.
Formal applications can be commenced by contacting Taronga’s Information Manager who will provide the applicant with the means to make a valid application. We encourage all potential applicants to consider making an informal request first as a formal request may take longer and have greater costs implications.
GIPA Act applications must be managed in accordance with the GIPA Act which specifies the requirements for a valid application, the assessment process and criteria for approving or refusing an application as well as the internal and external review process.
You can find out more about your right to information and new ways to access NSW Government information on the NSW Information and Privacy Commission website.
